This is the Ati-atihan Festival's street party!

Thanks to my sister, MamaGirl, for providing me the photos. It's been a long while since I last went home and I sure miss the merrymaking and celebrations there. Her story on the Ati-atihan festival can be found here, and more photos here.

you are always welcome sis! Try to make sa imong bakasyon january so you can visit (again) Kalibo and witness Ati-atihan. ;)
Tremendous costumes.
What a great party! Perfect!!!
Wow that is some party! The costumes are wonderful!
As Jams says, now that's a party. Better than the Mardi Gras parade and I'm sure the music is great too. Fantastic costumes. Thanks for sharing these.
That looks like great fun! I love the costumes. Thanks for the visit.
Thanks for the visit, guys. I was late in posting it. Anyways, it is a yearly festival and the preparations are grand. The costumes were well-designed (there is a prize for the best in costume), and the dances were well choreographed (another prize for the best dance) and the music is mostly drums - we call it sadsad or streetdance. You literally burn the soles of your shoes from all the streetdancing!
Now that is a PARTY! Ati-atihan is always a grand event.
Ayo2 sa imong trip ZJ.
What wonderful photos! I've never heard of Ati-atihan, but I'm certain I'd like it. I'm off to Google it ...
Thanks for stopping by mine!
